Description

Ryan Nichols was born and raised in New York and relocated to the Southeastern U.S. when he was 17. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Tulane University in New Orleans and graduated with his Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida. Ryan is part of the firm’s Sarasota office, where his practice focuses on personal injury, wrongful death, and motor vehicle accidents. Prior to joining Morgan & Morgan, Ryan was a litigator with a prestigious national law firm handling securities and complex business litigation matters across the country on behalf of large corporations and banks. Before becoming a civil litigator, Ryan was a Lead Trial Attorney for the Office of the State Attorney in the Sixth Judicial Circuit of Florida, where he supervised a division of attorneys and oversaw the prosecution of more than 1000 cases. To date, Ryan has handled more than 100 jury trials and arbitration matters and was named a “Rising Star” in 2022 by Florida Super Lawyers Magazine- an annual publication that recognizes the top 2.5% of the state’s lawyers. Ryan is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator and a Certified Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Dispute Resolution Services Mediator. While in law school, Ryan was a member of the Stetson Law Review and a recipient of the Victor O. Wehle Trial Advocacy Award and the William F. Blews Pro Bono Service Award. Before pursuing law, Ryan served as both an enlisted Marine and as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps. During his 10 years in the Marine Corps, Ryan served in many roles which include the Country Plans Officer for Eritrea, Ethiopia, and Sudan for the Combined Joint Task Force Horn of Africa from 2006-2007. Ryan’s military honors include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. Ryan chose to shift the focus of his practice to defending the injured instead of corporations, and when the honor to join Morgan & Morgan was offered to him, he immediately accepted. Ryan considers it a privilege to represent the people and brings a high level of competent and aggressive representation to his clients through his substantial experience.
